Foshan, Guangdong, a key demonstration area for the promotion and application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, has long faced challenges in its operational hydrogen stations, including unstable hydrogen supply and high transportation costs. These factors have kept end-user hydrogen prices persistently high. In response to the project requirements, Beijing PERIC Hydrogen Technologies Co., LTD(referred to as Beijing PERIC) actively collaborated with several industry partners and the project owner to jointly develop an integrated ammonia-to-hydrogen and refueling solution, making a beneficial attempt to address these issues.
On November 1, 2025, China’s first commercially operational "Ammonia-to-Hydrogen and Refueling Station," planned and constructed with the Beijing PERIC involvement, was officially inaugurated in Nanhai District, Foshan City. The station boasts a daily hydrogen refueling capacity of 1,000 kilograms.

This station innovatively adopts the "direct liquid ammonia supply - on-site hydrogen production - immediate refueling" model. It successfully implements low-temperature, high-efficiency ammonia decomposition catalytic technology, establishing a commercial pathway for "ammonia-to-hydrogen" energy conversion. By leveraging ammonia's efficiency advantages in storage and transportation, and combining refueling with on-site hydrogen production, the station alleviates the cost pressures associated with hydrogen transportation at the source. This helps reduce end-user hydrogen costs and provides robust support for the commercial operation of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
As a specialized enterprise in China's hydrogen station sector, Beijing PERIC leverages the profound expertise of its parent company, PERIC Hydrogen Technologies Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of CSSC), in hydrogen production equipment technology. It continuously focuses on customer needs within hydrogen application scenarios and has developed integrated on-site hydrogen production and refueling energy station solutions utilizing multiple technological routes, including water electrolysis, methanol reforming, and ammonia decomposition. Aiming to provide commercially viable, integrated, and innovative solutions and services for the industry, Beijing PERIC is committed to contributing its professional expertise to the achievement of China's "dual-carbon" goals.
